For as long as I remember Sport and Fitness has been my number one passion. After playing just about every sport possible during my school days I decided to take this passion further and turn it into a career. I went on to Major in Human Movement Studies during my undergrad degree and followed it up with an Honours degree in Sport Science. The knowledge that I gained during my university years as well as my desire to keep learning and keep improving my own coaching ability has helped me develop a strong understanding of the human body and what drives it to perform. This knowledge has been well demonstrated on all of my clients helping them understand their full physical potential.
As a strong believer in form first I have always maintained a strict movement standard in all of my classes. Technique and mobility are the two key foundations when training with me and under my guidance you’ll quickly develop both. You’ll learn how to move efficiently and safely which will help you to become stronger, fitter and healthier. Good movement is the key to improving performance and staying safe during physical activity!
During my time as a coach I have helped people from all different walks of life. This includes high level CrossFitters and Powerlifters to children as young as 5 years old. I have also worked with more specialized cases such as clients suffering with chronic injuries as well as severe Auto-Immune diseases. No matter what your limitations might be I will make it my goal to find a solution and get you training!
My passion for strength and fitness goes further than just coaching! In recent years I have competed in CrossFit, Weightlifting and most notably Powerlifting. During these years I have managed to win three National Powerlifting titles, multiple Provincial titles and have had the opportunity to represent my country at the IPF World Championships in 2016 (finishing 11th overall) as well as the African Powerlifting Championships in 2016 where I took 2nd place. This experience competing against athletes at the top level has been invaluable to me as a coach. I have learned new methods along the way which I incorporate into my training as well as into my clients programming.
As a passionate student of fitness I am constantly striving to learn more and I am always willing to adjust my training methods when required to do so.
Good movement is the greatest medicine your body will ever receive. You really do owe it to yourself to exercise and move well. Your body will thank you for it later!
High intensity group classes which focus on a combination of strength and fitness. The goal of the MetCon classes is to create a balance between strength and fitness training and to prepare each member for all forms of physical activity. Powerlifting, weightlifting, gymnastics and cardiovascular training systems meet as one to create the ultimate all round training programme!

Training programmes designed around the goals of the individual and delivered over an online app. This form of training is perfect for people that are unable to attend the gym during standard training hours or who have a membership at another gym and just need guidance with their training.
I moved to Wico Fitness just under 1 year ago with Andrew having guided myself and the CrossFit classes to the best of his ability and knowledge which I'd like to add is amazing! Since I have been training with Andrew, I have noticed that my weightlifting and powerlifting techniques have improved immensely and numbers have already gone up. He brings new ideas, skills and outlooks of fitness and strength to the table. He is not only a great coach but also leads by example, really showing his worth within the Wico Fitness training grounds.
Crossfit or Functional training always interested me but the concern was losing weight and muscle mass instead of putting on muscle. I decided to give it a try and joined Andrew. My focus shifted from aesthetics to building strength and functionality in fitness. Andrews back ground in powerlifting got me lifting heavy and doing so in a short space of time. His training regimen got me addicted to powerlifting, Olympic lifting and functional fitness workouts and my inconsistency problem quickly disappeared! I’ve been training with Andrew since November 2018. Since then, I have come to realise how passionate he is about fitness and helping people reach their personal goals. He is extremely encouraging and pushes me to the maximum in every workout, whilst ensuring my form is at it’s best. The workouts he creates are always an absolute nightmare (in a good way) and really push you to challenge yourself. Andrew, is by far one of the best coaches I have had and I highly recommended him if you are looking to reach any fitness goal.
I have been training with Andrew for just under a year now. I started with Andrew as a side program to stay fit, I soon fell in love with his coaching style, programs and the attention he pays to each individual even in group classes. Andrew always puts the care for his clients first, teaching new lifting techniques slowly and professionally to each client. His experience in weight lifting shows when teaching those who have never tried and perfects others with slight experience. Andrew is definitely one of the best and I look forward continuing my journey with him.
I started training with Andrew 2 years ago, and it has been such an incredible journey. Andrew motivated me to not only learn skills I never thought I could ever possibly master, but also to compete. Under Andrew's guidence I was confident enough to enter my first powerlifting competition and then to participate in Gauteng champs, which qualified me for SA Champs. He is not only concerned with performance, but most importantly, our form in lifting and other movements. I have grown in physical strength as alwell as mental strength under his guidence.
